Just this week I interviewed a young man who said he has a burning desire “to do more.” He said it’s very difficult to explain, but something is telling him that he is capable of so much more than what he’s currently accomplishing. I smiled on the inside because I knew exactly what that feeling is like.

This man graduated from a good university. He has a good, stable job. He has a loving wife and family. His health is great, and he has his entire life before him. What more could someone ask for, right? Some may say he is being selfish or ungrateful to pursue “more,” when he has been given so much already.

I disagree.

This young man has been entrusted with talents and abilities that will bless the lives of countless individuals if he is willing to get out of his very comfortable life and pursue those promptings “to do more.”

The same holds true for all of us. We have all been entrusted with unique talents and abilities to be utilized for the betterment of our own lives, the lives of our family and friends, and the world and society that we live in.

The desire “to do more” lies within each of us. It takes courage to follow these promptings, to leave your current life of safety and comfort. You will have to pursue paths that may make you feel uneasy or unsure of yourself, or even afraid. You will have to overcome all of these internal struggles in order to do more.

Maybe “more” for you means pursuing a more challenging career path. Maybe it means finally going back to college for that advanced degree. Maybe your “more” is adopting or fostering a child in need.

Whatever “more” might be calling to you, if you listen closely, you will hear it.

If you will have the courage to follow your internal promptings, you will find an even greater capacity for progression and success—more leads to more!

Soon, you will not be able to imagine your life without these new experiences and life lessons. You will have a greater feeling of accomplishment and you will know that you are fulfilling the full measure of your professional and personal potential.
